The challenge:
The Haitian diaspora lacked a reliable, centralized source for news from home. Existing outlets were fragmented, often inaccessible on mobile, and rarely available in both Creole and French. Misinformation spread faster than verified reporting because there was no trusted aggregation layer.
Our approach:
We built Haiti News Network as a multi-source aggregation platform with editorial curation. The system pulls from verified outlets, categorizes stories by region and topic, and serves them in a clean, mobile-first reading experience. Bilingual support (Creole and French), push notifications for breaking news, and offline reading for areas with unreliable connectivity.
The results:
Haiti News Network has become a go-to source for the Haitian diaspora seeking credible, organized news from home. The platform bridges the information gap between Haiti and its global community.
